Belknap County Democrats welcome Chris Farrell, Co-Founder of NH50501 to our September Donuts & Democracy series on Saturday, September 20th from 9am-12pm. NH50501 has been responsible for the organization of the peaceful protests across the state in coordination with the nation wide 50501 movement. The idea—50 protests in 50 states on 1 day—was born from a “Reddit” post and spread rapidly on social media. With his fellow Co-Founders, the NH50501 group was formed and from the first protest it has grown exponentially. The Labor Day “Workers Over Billionaires” rally with US Senator Bernie Sanders and Congressman Ro Khanna attracted thousands and spawned dozens of smaller protests throughout the state. Chris will share with us how he became interested in the movement, his vision for future protests, and what we can do to help. Doors open at 9am with donuts, coffee, and conversation. The annual Belknap County Democrats Bluebash is happening on Sunday, August 17! Join us from 4pm-7pm at Leavitt Park in Laconia. Meet and hear from our Democratic candidates from around Belknap County and the state and mingle with like minded voters while you enjoy live entertainment provided by NH Music Collective artist, Willy Chase. There will be hamburgers and hotdogs on the BBQ with lots of sides (vegan options included), the TriTown Democrats are bringing back their now FAMOUS SUNDAE BAR, and there will be a 50/50 raffle with all proceeds going directly to local candidate support.

In 2022, Belknap County led a bipartisan fight against Free State and Liberty Alliance candidates for public office. But then $1 million in outside billionaire libertarian donations targeted New Hampshire state elections. As a result, the FSP/LA now dominate the Republican Caucus.

This month we welcome Jeanne Dietsch from Granite State Matters who will lead the discussion on what they’re up to, who is backing their agenda, and how to remove them from office.
